Diets are deceiving in that three months of depriving yourself of many foods (including healthy ones), you can look better, lose 20 pounds, and look amazing. After that, you can eat all the ice cream, cookies, and McDonald’s as you want and be fine.
Let’s apply this to finances. If you save $500 from each paycheck and making double payments on your credit card debt for three months, you can still be fine if you make poor financial decisions and max out each credit card you have afterward. Is it good to save $500 from each paycheck? Yes. Is it good to eat healthy and exercise for three months? Of course!
Whether this principle is applied to finances or health, it is beyond faulty. If you want to improve any area of your life, you will need to be realistic and consistent.
