I always feel sluggish and sleepy. What’s going on?
It’s not that you just ate an entire chocolate cake or have not had water in three months. No matter what you “try,” it seems we cannot get out of that strange, undesirable state.
This is how I felt for a few miserable years of my life. I had a general feeling of not being well. I’ll share with you what I discovered.
1. Your every day home items are filled with toxins.
Yes, there is pollution outside. However, even more pollution is inside thanks to the toxic candles, supposedly good-smelling air fresheners, and those cleaners we use every day. We inhale the candle smell, the air freshener, and even the cleaners. Do you really need ammonia inside you? Of course not! Once cleaners (think dish washing detergent, floor cleaner, and window cleaner) come in contact with your skin, they are absorbed into your blood stream without being filtered by the liver. Ah, that is reason for alarm, correct?
When I was younger, it seems that every time I washed the dishes, my skin was irritated from all the chemicals. A few years ago, that problem went away because I stopped using the harsh store-bought dish washing detergent! Am I ever grateful!
2. Your foods are filled with dangerous ingredients.
When I was fresh out of college, my mom told me about Aldi. It was an affordable place for me to shop, yet I noticed that I had to be careful because the yogurt had food coloring and aspartame in it. While Aldi has significantly raised its standards on the food it sells, it’s still important to pay attention to what you are putting into your body.
“Oh, but I eat all organic,” someone says. “I’m safe.” Even organic food is allowed to be sprayed with insecticides and pesticides. It’s not sounding so good, right?
3. Your food, especially in the United States, greatly lacks fiber.
Much of the food that is popular to eat in America isn’t just bad for you to ingest. It has the audacity to just sit in your colon. Yes, just like that. The purpose of our food is to be eaten, for our body to absorb the nutrition, and the rest to be eliminated through natural means. However, the hamburger meal that is so easy to obtain through the drive through has no fiber. None. That means when you eat it, it’s just going to sit and rot inside your body. That’s not such a pleasant feeling, right? That is how polyps form in the colon, and and the risk of colon cancer greatly increases!
4. Your body is absorbing toxins through skincare.
I used to be one that purchased the off brand versions of skincare at WalMart. Please know that I am not judging anyone. Then, one day, a sweet lady informed me that not all lotions are created alike and some are very poor quality. In addition, I learned that I was putting petroleum by-products on my skin. What that an awakening for me! Again, what we put on our skin is absorbed directly into our bloodstream without being filtered by the liver. According to NaturalNews.com, women put 515 chemicals on their skin every day!
5. Years of all of the above cannot be ignored.
How many years have you been cleaning your home? Eating food? Applying skin care? Washing your dishes? Imagine how many toxins have built up in your body over that time! It’s time to start eliminating all those toxins in your body!
When I began eliminating harmful toxins from my body, miracles started happening! Instead of waking up four times at night, I woke up maybe once. I felt considerably better!
Have a beautiful week!

I was just sharing with my husband yesterday and I’m planning a dextox week post New Years. Thanks for this boost and in-depth read on why it’s important.
Jennipher, excellent! What kind of detox are you doing?
One of my goals for 2018 is to eat healthier. Here in Oklahoma, southern cooking is everywhere and I have to admit, I’ve embraced butter as a side dish! Learning to eat healthier is going to be so difficult for me but I know my body needs it!
Vanessa, yes, Oklahoma has so much southern cooking. Do you have a plan to eat healthier?
